Values
Our key principles are:
- Whanau (family) – we are an extended family across our worshipping communities and our Diocese united by shared values and identity, with a shared responsibility to know and care for each other.
- Manaakitanga (generous hospitality) – we offer the best of ourselves and what we have to God, each other and our world. We are known for our generous hospitality inside and outside our churches.
- Turangawaewae (belonging) – We offer a place to belong, where we all can stand together through kinship in Christ (shared Whakapapa)
- Faithful Stewardship - we can operate efficiently and responsibly looking after our assets, our resources and our environment.
- Taonga (treasures) – Our buildings are maintained for future generations.
- We communicate with clarity across all ages groups.
Goals
- To reveal Jesus to each other and to our communities.
- To grow our church both spiritually and numerically across all ages by 50% over the next 2 years particularly focusing on Children’s and family ministry by being a present and vibrant mover for God in our community.
- To activate and empower the leadership by identifying the talents and gifts of the people within the parish.
- To strengthen and grow rural ministry in the outlying faith communities.
